The first trips start for the traditional Senaru house, traditional Senaru houses are one of the traditional houses in Bayan, in this place you can get a glimpse of older, traditional architecture.  The houses here are made of wooden poles which sit atop of a stone foundation. The floor has been cemented with the same height as the foundation. Around, the walls are covered with woven bamboo, Structured with wooden roof trusses, while the purlins, rafters and battens are made of bamboo of various sizes, covered with layers of dried reeds tied to each rafter. The top of the roof are clamped with two bamboo slats, that form a distinctive pattern. As with other traditional buildings, their habit of cooking at home dries the reeds.

After looking around the tradional house Senaru, we continue to the next trip, to the traditional mosque in Bayan The traditional mosque in Bayan, Beleq Vilage was built by a Islamic Missionary in Bayan, in 16th century. The mosque has a square shape with walls of around 125 cm in height. The walls are made from bamboo weaving. The roof is shape like meru and in the top of it there is a wooden decoration, shaped like a crown. The shape of the building’s roof displays the Hindu-Java influence which came before Islam.  To enter the mosque, you have to bow a bit. Inside the mosque, you will see floor from land, and an old big bedug (a large suspended drum used to signal the time for Islamic prayers to begin) which remains well preserved. The four pillars of the mosque symbolize the unity of four villages which contributed in building the mosque.  Besides the mosque as the main building, you will see six other buildings surrounding it. The sizes differ. Inside these six buildings, there is Bayan Muslim ancestors’ grave. You can also see four graves of differing size and irregular position in the south side of the mosque. Underneath the graves, has been buried the first people of Bayan who hold Islam Lombok and the first Islam missionary in Bayan. In the north side of the mosque, there are two graves, after you satisfy yourself with seeing this remnant of early Islam, you can step by to local the souvenir shop in front of Bayan Beleg mosque. There, you can buy a miniature of Bayan Beleq mosque and other Lombok traditional objects like traditional hand weaving. After enjoy the traditional hand weaving, and the last back to hotel for lunch.
